We Got A Dog

Ok, maybe I should back up a bit. Our new dog is at least 30 years old and sat on my grandparents' fireplace all of my life. I loved this dog so much.



This past weekend, he came to live with us, on our fireplace. I don't recall him ever having a name, but we have officially named him Jackson after my grandpa and grandma Jackson. So happy to have him as part of our family!

Almost One Year

Abigail turns one year old next Wednesday. Next Wednesday! When did that happen? It seems like she has been a part of our family forever and yet it seems like I had her yesterday. Sounds cliché, but it's true. She is going to be walking before I know it! We are having an alligator party since we call her Abigator. Isn't it funny how you can't really choose your child's nickname ahead of time? It just sort of happens? And she's our little gator. LOL!

Here is her first birthday outfit that we had made.







Tootsie roll pops are basically her favorite thing ever. I don't let her suck on them for a real long time because I don't want it to break off the stick. Boy, does she scream and cry though when you take it away! Haha!

Leaf Party 2013

Every year we have a leaf party at Ryan's parents' house. Olivia and Abigail are now the only grandkids left in town on that side of the family. Olivia wanted another kid to play in the leaves with so two of the neighbor kids came and we invited cousin Izzy (on my side of the family.) It was a blast, but everyone was sorely missed!

Olivia P.

Olivia's new favorite obsession is Junie B Jones. We can sit down and I'll read an entire book in one evening. They always make her laugh and she relates so well to them. Olivia reminds me a lot of Junie B with her thought processes and the names she comes up with for things. Olivia was thrilled to find the entire collection in her Scholastic Book Order. We have only read about 5 of them (over and over again.) Tonight we read the one about the monster under her bed. Junie B was getting her class picture taken and telling the photographer (aka the cheese man) about how once she wasn't ready for her picture to be taken. She showed him how she had one eye open and one eye closed. . .and then he took her picture! Olivia laughed and wanted to get her picture taken just like that. I joked that from now on I'll just call her Olivia P.

Tobey and Abigail

Tobey has quickly become
'Abigail's cat.'I have never seen a cat do so well with someone as young as Abigail. This is how I found them today. Abigail was using him as a pillow. He has taken on the role of protector and is at her door in 3 seconds every time she cries at night.



Tobey has a checkup at the vet this afternoon to determine the success of his last surgery. Hoping for good results! These two. . . .you just can't put a price on that.

A Love Of Learning

Olivia is doing so great in kindergarten. She loves it so much and has developed such a love for learning. Every night when daddy is putting Abigail to bed, we have our "learning time" that she looks forward to every day. She is doing so well with her sight words and sounding out words. We have such a great time reading sentences together! I just could not be more pleased with how she is progressing. It's amazing!


This was her idea to draw her family with names on sticks. Then we acted out stories with them. I love how she always includes Logan in our family (and all the pets, of course. We have three cats, a hamster and fish.)

My Grandma's Memorial

What an amazing and beautiful celebration of my grandmother's life today. I am completely drained, but in a good way as I know she was smiling down on us all.

As you know, very rarely does Olivia wear a dress and even more rarely does she wear tights (and not even complain about it.) And, I don't even wear a dress and panty hose that often! My grandma would have loved their matching dresses. They looked so adorable!




Ryan was even in a suit and tie. I so wish my grandma was here to see us all.



Also, ALL six of the grand kids were able to be there. My brother and I live in town, but the others came from Colorado, New Hampshire and Texas.

Here are all the grandkids/spouses. My grandma also has two new great grandchildren due in December.

Here is a good picture of my cousin, David, and his wife Emily.



They have a 4 1/2 year old boy named Zachary. Olivia and Izzy played with him all afternoon and tonight I mentioned him and that he was her 2nd cousin. Olivia was blown away. . .like, I have MORE cousins that I don't even know about? LOL! Yes, dear, you have quite a few.

But, all the kids were sooo well behaved. I could not have been any prouder of my girls. And I know my grandma was as well.

Shelley's Shower

Saturday was my sister-in-law's baby shower. She is due a little before Christmas. Maybe my family will finally have their Christmas baby ( Olivia, Logan and Abigail were all due around Christmas.) It was an adorable shower and had my phone not been on low battery the entire time, I would have gotten more pictures. I can't wait to meet my new little niece.







Olivia adores her great aunt Mary and was so glad she was there.

The boots may be for baby Ivy, but Olivia discovered that they also fit her pink bear.
