Perspective

Olivia was blown away by how small her feet were at birth. Keep in mind that Olivia has small feet for a 6 year old (she wears about an 11 shoe.) I had never even thought of doing this. It was all Olivia's idea.

Here is an example of one of the many differences between a preemie and a micro preemie. Abigail was born at 35 weeks and Olivia and Logan were born at 23 weeks. I forget sometimes that Abigail was born 5 weeks early.

My two girls are so very special. Love them to pieces!!!

Red ribbon Week

For some reason, I didn't get a picture of her on Monday aka Red day. But, here is neon day. She even got a neon pink stripe in her hair.

Hat day in her favorite hat.

Pajama day. I wish I had videotaped all the kids getting off the bus in their pajamas. It was too sweet!!

Favorite team day. She had a choice between my Shockers or daddy's Wildcats. And well, I guess daddy's influence over her won.

Thursday, October 24, 2013

My back has been giving me tons of grief lately. I'm used to neck/upper back pain, but this mid back pain is entirely new. After exhausting all of my ideas (heat, ice, Aleve, Lortab, etc) I decided to have it checked out at the doctor. I have a rhomboid strain which can be hard to recover from since I use those muscles all the time!

Picking up and carrying Abigail

Getting the stroller in and out of the van

Carrying Abigail and her pink car out of the house and down the steps to go to the bus stop every day.

Falling asleep with Abigail in the recliner.

Getting Abigail in and out of her crib

It hurts so bad I can't even take a deep breath! I'm hoping these muscle relaxers will help and not make me too loopy!

I can't even get Abigail in her crib, so she gets to nap on the floor. (And where she is, Tobey follows.)

Morning yoga hasn't helped, but Olivia loves it.

On top of it, Olivia has had a bad cold this week ( I knew that would happen after I had bragged about her being so healthy) and now Abigail has it. My poor snotty nosed babies. Hoping we all feel better soon!

ABCs

Every night we go through the alphabet and Olivia has to tell me a word that starts with each letter. Last night when she got to G, she said "gnaw." LOL! I told her a few weeks ago how gnaw started with a g as in "Abigail gnawed on her crib" and she remembered. Wow! She's so smart!

Photo Shoot

It was a beautiful day to get outside, so I decided to do a little photo shoot with Abigail. I just took these with my iPhone, totally impromptu, but I think they turned out cute!! I had an adorable model though!!!

Happy 11 Months

Wow, do you know how hard it was to get a picture of her smiling, sitting down and showing the number 11?

Two out of the three here.

She is smiling here.

And sitting and showing the number 11 here. The days of sitting her in the chair are gone!

She has just taken off this month! Crawling, pulling up, cruising furniture and attempting to stand unassisted. She also recently learned that her finger fits perfectly up her nose. Her sense of accomplishment about this is hilarious!

She weighs about 21 lbs and is the best eater I've ever seen. Had she been my first baby, I would not come close to understanding the challenges
of having a child who doesn't eat well. And she is so smart! You show her something one time and she gets it! She says mama, dada, baba, baaa (for bath) and the other day while playing with Olivia's hamster, she said Pinky.

She is just an amazingly awesome baby and watching her grow and develop these past 11 months has been such a blessing.

Pumpkins At The Park

We went to Tangyanika Wild Life Park's Pumpkins At The Park tonight. It was fun, but last year it wasn't nearly as crowded. Abigail stayed at home with my parents, but not before we got pictures of the girls in their costumes.

A witch, a ladybug and a black cat.

My little ladybug

It takes a lot to scare Olivia and her cousin, Izzy. This big 'ole guy?

"He was kinda nice," Olivia said as she shook his skeleton finger. As a child I would have been terrified!

A cage of doom meant for 12+ year olds? The girls laughed at the people trying to scare them, which made them laugh. Of course, it probably would have been a different story in the dark. LOL!

We also ran into Olivia's best friend, Sage, from preschool.

We later went on a haunted hayride and our tractor "broke down" in the middle of a field. While we were sitting in the middle of nowhere, we were told a scary story. If you know Olivia, you know this is right up her alley as I've spent many hours in a dark closet telling her scary stories. Luckily, the tractor was fixed just in time because zombies appeared in the field and started chasing us. Of course, Olivia is growling back at them and Izzy is yelling," Zombies can't run!" It was hilarious! The things that scare and don't scare Olivia befuddles me.

Olivia chose pumpkin #4 as her favorite.

I'm so glad that Olivia got to spend the evening with Izzy. Those two used to spend so much time together. Now that they are both in school, they don't see each other near enough. It was a great night!

Field Trip

"I don't wanna go on a field trip! I just want to stay in my classroom and do math!"

Only sweet Olivia, who hates change, would say this. Poor thing cried all morning about her field trip. I had an appointment that I couldn't get rescheduled until December, so daddy took off work and went with her to the pumpkin patch. And she had a blast (as I knew she would.) Having her dad there was icing on the cake. :-) And from what I hear, he was the tire swing man.
