Sick and then sick again

It's always the same: Olivia gets sick, then Abigail, then me, then Ryan. And the cycle keeps repeating itself. We are on our second round of the crud now. I'm thankful it's not the more serious stuff going around, but the amount of coughing and snot in this house is ridiculous. Poor Abigail keeps throwing up due to her congestion. I'm ready for Spring!!

Restful Legs

As many of you know, I have suffered with severe restless legs for the past 3-4 years. I've literally taken every prescription medication for them including Requip, Neupro, Lortab, etc. Many of the prescriptions have unwanted side effects that I can't handle. On a whim I purchased Hyland's Restful Legs. If you suffer with restless legs, you MUST purchase these:

I don't always believe in homeopathic remedies, but I will never be without these again. I've gone a week without any other restless legs medication. Just these little miracle pills that you dissolve under your tongue. Amazing!!

If you do try them, I'd be curious to learn how they work for you. I am so grateful to have stumbled across them!

Oh These Two

Trying to get a picture of these two is hilarious at times!

Okay, SMILE!

Huh?

Abigail clearly thinks her sister is nuts. LOL!

Apparently I said," Don't look at the camera and make a silly face."

Eh. This will have to do for now. But boy aren't they cute?

Sisterly Love

Abigail is always looking up to her big sister. She actually wanted Olivia to pick her up. Haha! They are only 10 lbs (and 5 years) apart.

Love these two sweeties. Love Abigail's facial expressions.

The face below is the one Abigail gives me when she is doing something she is not supposed to be doing. Such an ornery little thing. LOL!

Under The Bed

No monsters hiding under Olivia's bed. There wouldn't be room. Last night I made her clean underneath her bed. That's always an adventure as she shoves everything under there when she cleans her room. So, this time, I recorded everything we found.

Yep, my daughter is a hoarder.

Here's a little known fact about me. I LOVE basketball. I used to be a big Chicago Bulls fan and even saw them play in Chicago in 1997 (with Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, etc.) But even that wasn't as exciting as watching my Wichita State Shockers. I love how they work unselfishly as a team and when one isn't playing their best, another player always steps up. They are a force to be reckoned with. Wow! I couldn't be more proud to be a Wichita State grad. I love how they are bringing the city together and winning and winning and winning.

Great job! You've made your city so proud!

Trip To A Museum

We were looking for something different to do today, so we decided to go to the Museum of World Treasures. I had actually never been. Olivia and Abigail were absolute angels the entire time (of course, you have to adjust to Olivia's pace which doesn't give you much time to look at things.) But, that is just the way she is. I expected a lot of replicas, but they had some pretty neat stuff including Abraham Lincoln's actual cane. Olivia is currently really into the Magic Tree House books. The one we read yesterday was about mummies in Ancient Egypt. So it was pretty cool for her to see two actual mummies, a sarcophagus, scepters, pictures of pyramids, hieroglyphics, etc.

Olivia loved the dinosaurs of course!

She especially liked that this guy's name was Logan (because he was found in Logan County.)

They have a pretty neat children's play area that both girls loved! Here is Abigail waiting for Olivia's puppet show to start.

Abigail was so pleased with herself for getting up into the chair all by herself! She loved playing at the little table like such a big girl!

She was just beaming with pride! What a cutie! And what a fun afternoon!

Highs were in the upper 40s today, which felt balmy comparatively. Most of the snow was melting, but our backyard (facing north and shaded) still has tons of snow. So, Olivia and I got to play in the snow and didn't freeze while doing it. We had so much fun!!

We made a snowman that she named Binky.

We searched for buried treasure, played snowball catch and had a snowball fight (getting hit in the face with a snowball, even by a 6 year old, still stings.)

And here's a picture of me and my other sweetie! Such a silly girl!

Strike A Pose

This has made me laugh all night. I was changing Abigail's diaper and she didn't want her pants back on. Instead she sat down and "posed" by her chair to let me take her picture.

Haha! I don't know why it made me laugh so hard. Don't they always pose you this way for senior pictures? Kinda like this? I think we will recreate this same pose when she is 18 (with pants, of course.)

Abigail is so funny. She has learned how to turn on the CD player, so she constantly turns on her music and just boogies. It is such a hilarious this to watch. . .and so extremely cute. I don't know how I was blessed with such adorable girls who are so funny as well. They are just amazing, inside and out.

Back to school

After a week long snow/ inservice break, Olivia was excited to get back to school today. (Especially because Mondays are PE days and she loves PE!)

During the break, I was able to work on her Valentines. I wanted something really cute this year and thought these were adorable!! I just have to add the starfish name tags.

Day 4

What do you do after 3 snow days followed by an inservice day?

Build a huge tent

Poor Olivia has an awful cold which boggles my mind since we were in the house away from all human beings for 3 days?!? Her nose is so raw.

But we are all making the most of it!

Snow Day # 2

So, snow days can get kinda boring when it's too cold to play outside (windchills way below 0.) But Olivia vowed to spend it playing her DS. And, boy, did she ever! She's getting really good at Mario Kart!

Abigail got into a lot of mischief. I caught her getting into my makeup, throwing toilet paper in the toilet, standing on the fireplace with her sister's DS (Olivia must have taken a potty break.).

And talking on the telephone. . .

But the girls really liked their snow ice cream!

And maybe we can play again in the snow sometime soon! (Yesterday was Abigail's first time.)
