Update

Well, I know I don't blog anymore, but I wanted to give a quick update on the girls.

Olivia is doing very well. She is blossoming this year in first grade. She started the year unable to correctly form all of her letters and now she's reading. Olivia does have high functioning autism and ADHD. It took years to get a diagnosis of something I've known she's had since she was a baby. Her school is always willing to go the extra mile for her and it's such a blessing. She also started taekwondo last month. That is something I never even thought about her doing, but she enjoys it and it's really good for her focus, attention and follow through. She has already got her first stripe. So proud of her.

Abigail is your typical two year old. . . like a teenager in a little body. LOL! She is so smart, stubborn and independent. Those are great qualities to have most of the time. She is very sweet and loving. Abigail enjoys Caillou, Barney and Chuggington. Her favorite thing is playing in water, sand or playdoh, which is ironic because we had to make Olivia get messy and Abigail thrives on it.

They are just the best of friends. Neither girl (especially Olivia) are very good at sharing. But, we are working on that.

And, lastly, here's a picture of Olivia in her taekwondo uniform.

Abigail Is Two

Last month Abigail turned two, which almost seems impossible. Olivia and Abigail are truly best friends and is such a blessing to us all. She is about 30 lbs, knows most of her shapes, colors and can count "somewhat" to 13. What a joy she is!

Olivia's 7th Birthday Party

Olivia had a kitty cat party.

Thank you to her friends and family that attended!

Afterwards, the girls sent their birthday balloons to Logan.

Abigail loves drawing balloons!  And she's pretty good at it too!

Olivia, I hope you had a great party!!  Thanks again everyone!

Meet the Teacher

Olivia met her first grade teacher tonight and saw her new classroom.  She is beyond excited about school starting which is music to this mama's ears!  She couldn't believe that she had her own desk that opened.  Olivia wanted to start tomorrow (but, she has to wait until Tuesday.)

Two of her friends from kindergarten are in her class as well as her bus partner.  I feel so much more at ease about school starting as I know Olivia will do wonderfully!  So proud of her!

Meet Daisy

Olivia recently began asking for a dog.  She wanted a chihuahua with long ears that she could name Daisy.  I had my own long list of necessary traits like must not be a puppy, be potty trained and from a rescue.  On a whim, I visited the humane society and found our Daisy.

She is an extremely gentle and affectionate 2 year old dog. . .a  potty trained chihuahua with big ears.

She is so good with the girls, which I'm surprised at with such a small breed.  Some have a reputation for not being good with small children.  Daisy is a very gentle soul who I believe is meant for our family.   I have yet to even hear her bark.

I have never seen Olivia so in love.  Every hour or so, she says," I can't believe we have a dog!" She used her tooth fairy money to buy her a toy at the pet store.

So, that's our Daisy.  What a sweetie!!

Good Bye For Now

After almost seven years and close to 2500 posts, I've decided to stop blogging.  Well, I'm sure I'll update big events like birthdays, first days of school, etc.  But, I'm no longer going to blog about the day to day events in our lives.  It's a good thing.  It means our life has become rather boring and normal. And as Olivia gets older, I doubt she would appreciate all the details of her life being shared and I have to think about that.  I've decided to write in a personal journal as my outlet because writing has been rather therapeutic to me over the years.  So, for now, I leave you with a big THANK YOU for checking in on us and sharing in our joys. It has meant so much to me.
