10th Anniversary

Happy 10th anniversary, Ryan Glunt!

My husband asked me how I wanted to celebrate tonight. My reply? Order pizza, put on pjs and watch a movie. LOL! Sounds like a perfect evening to me. It was exciting just to get the kids to bed early. But, don't worry. . .we have a nice weekend planned including family pictures in the morning. ;-)

Beef Burritos

Back in January,  we started using www.emeals.com.  For $5 per month, you receive a weekly menu including a shopping list. They now also have an iPhone app for it.  No more worrying about what to cook for dinner or whether you have all of the ingredients on hand.  Not only that, but after almost 5 months of meals, there  have only been a handful of recipes that we haven’t liked.  Someday I promise I will do a more thorough review of it.  Tonight, however, we had one of our favorites. . .beef burritos.  I just thought I’d share the recipe as they are easy and delicious!

Brown 1  1/2 lbs ground beef with 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, 1 Tbs minced garlic and 1 package of taco seasoning mix.

Drain.  Add in 1  1/2 cup salsa and 3 cups Mexican Blend shredded cheese.  The recipe also calls for a 15 oz can pinto beans, drained and mashed, but we are not pinto beans people.  It is delicious without the beans, but I’m sure it would also be good with. Mix well.

Spoon mixture into flour tortilla and fold.

Wrap each burrito in foil and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

The great thing about this recipe is that you can throw them in the freezer and pull out an individual burrito whenever you want.  And they taste fabulous! Enjoy!

Years Four and Five

10 Years

On Friday is our 10th wedding anniversary. Wow. Ten years! So, I thought each day we would look back at those past 10 years. We have had a lot of joy and a lot of pain. We've understood very much the meaning of the words "for better or for worse." I only hope that in the next ten years. . .the joy far outweigh the pain!! I love you, Ryan!!

Olivia and Izzy were together over 24 hours and I don't think they really fought once. Abigail and I went over this morning and we all went swimming.

I was a bit worried about swimming during Abigail's naptime, but she hung out with me in the pool and then slept on me in a lawn chair.

Later we all headed out to lunch at Chili's. It was the first time we took Abigail out to a restaurant (other than fast food) and she did pretty good. Again, she fell asleep.

Haha! We wore this poor girl out. Then Olivia and Izzy still didn't want to part ways, so Izzy came back home with us for awhile.
They have just been the best of buddies lately! It's been a lot of fun!

We celebrated my mom's birthday today (it was Friday!) Hard to believe that next year she will have another grand baby in her lap.

My sister-in-law is about 14 weeks pregnant and doing well. I can't wait to find out if I'm having a niece or nephew!

Olivia is staying the night over at Izzy's house tonight. I hear they are having a great time! They even went swimming this evening.

Ryan and I have enjoyed a night "alone." We still have Abigail, but she goes to sleep around 7 pm. It's funny though how much different it feels to just have one child. LOL!

17 Years Later

Tonight I went to a band/high school reunion and it was so fun! Those were some fun, fun times and it was great to see some of my old friends! And it is always nice to reminisce on older, simpler times. :-)

I got home and Olivia asked me if I brought her home a balloon. When I told her that there weren't any balloons there, she told me it wasn't a party without balloons! So, I guess it wasn't really a party. LOL!
