Lily and Leap

Yesterday, at a garage sale, I found a Leap to go along with Olivia’s beloved Lily.  You can’t find them anymore except on ebay, so it was quite a find.  It brightened Olivia’s entire day.  In Olivia’s eyes, I think I’m definitely in the running for Mother Of The Year because of it.  So, many thanks to my niece, Izzy, for pointing Leap out.

Tonight, she slept with Lily and I was instructed to sleep with Leap.  And, I’d better have him in bed with me when she wakes up in the morning or I’m in big trouble.  One time, I left a stuffed animal on the dresser that I was supposed to sleep with and I got scolded.  It seriously makes Olivia so sad that I don’t sleep with stuffed animals like her.  It’s as if she truly feels sorry for me, so she gives me a toy to sleep with. LOL!

Tonight, Ryan and I went to a Feed Your Faith, Love Worth Fighting For conference with Kirk Cameron.  Hopefully, you all know who Kirk Cameron is. . .star of Growing Pains and really my one and only teen idol (besides New Kids On The Block, maybe.)

Well, tonight I got to scratch one off the ‘ole bucket list that’s been on there for 25 years.

Meet Kirk Cameron

And what did I say to him after 25 years?  “Uh, laugh, laugh, snort, I am one of those girls that had your posters on my wall, laugh, laugh, snort.” What a dork!  I really disappoint myself sometimes.

I was also able to scratch yet another thing off my bucket list.

Sponsor a child

I’ve always wanted to, but I have always found reasons not to.  I’m kind of ashamed to admit that, but it’s the truth.  But, we now sponsor a little 4 year old boy from Rwanda.  I’m excited to tell Olivia about him and see how we can touch this little boy’s life.

All in all, a great evening that I was glad to share with my husband.

Chipmunk

So, we told a tiny little fib to Olivia today.  Last summer she lost her Eleanor chipmunk that came with a McDonald’s Happy Meal. It says, “It’s so beautiful!” She was very attached to Chipmunk (this was pre-Peacock) and has talked about its disappearance at least every day for almost a year.  We’ve torn the house apart looking for it and I don’t think it will ever be found.  Well, we decided to buy her a new one on Ebay.  It was only $4, which is still more than the cost of a Happy Meal, but very reasonable considering how much she loved it.  We knew that if we presented it to her as a new one “just like” her old one. . .she would not accept it.  So, we hid it in the hall closet and I sent her on a mission to get some towels.  And. . .there was Chipmunk!  We had one happy girl in our house tonight!

And, just so you know. . . it’s been hiding in the closet for the past year and we forgot to look there. LOL!

8 Weeks

IMGP0042

fetal_dev_08_weeks_sml[1]

Current size of baby: Kidney Bean

How far along? 8 weeks

Total weight gain: 1 lb

Inches Gained: 1 inch. Yes, I feel like I’m already showing.  I showed really early with Olivia and Logan and I thought it was because I was carrying more than one baby.  But, maybe I’m just an “early show-er” because there is just one baby in there.

Maternity clothes? No

Sleep: Great

How I'm feeling: Very fatigued, a bit nauseous. I fell asleep this week about 10 times while trying to read Olivia one book.  I’ve never done that before.  I’m also very forgetful!

Best moment this week: Going to my first OB appointment and seeing the baby. We saw the heartbeat, but didn’t get to listen to it or measure it.

Movement: No

Food cravings: Still varies, but I’ve wanted ice cream a lot lately. And cheese burgers and fries! With Olivia and Logan I craved cantaloupe. Sadly, it’s nothing that healthy this time.

Food aversions: Also variable, lately it has still been salads.

Gender: Unknown. Be sure to vote in the poll on the top right of the side bar.  So far, I think Olivia is the only one who has guessed sister.  I asked her why she thinks it is a sister and she simply replied, “Because I already have a brother.”

Labor Signs: NO

Belly Button in or out? in

What I miss: Riding on amusement park rides with my daughter.

What I am looking forward to: My next OB appt on June 6th.

Milestones: Baby’s heart is beating!

(Does this post look familiar, Amanda?) I’m completely stealing it from you.

Happy Mother’s Day

I spent Mother’s Day with a few very special women in my life. . . my grandma, my aunt, my mom and my daughter.  Thankful for my mom and all of the other special mothers in my life who have set the bar so high, I have no hope of reaching it. LOL!  Love you all!
