We had a picture perfect afternoon at the State Fair.  Olivia had such a great time riding rides and seeing all of the animals.  She loved the roosters and each time one of them would cock-a-doodle-doo, she’d try to pinpoint which one did it.  She could have stayed there forever.

Olivia went on her very first roller coaster today.  She kept telling us that it was really fast and scary, but it was fun.

She also rode on her very first carousel.  Surprisingly, she chose to ride in the sled instead of on a horse.  But, she loved it!

She had fun driving in cars. . .

and riding on the train.

This little boy helped unbuckle her when the ride was over.  It was really cute.

What a wonderful day spent with my family.  I loved every minute of it!

Olivia had an AMAZING first day of preschool.  Not a single tear was shed (and if you remember. . .last year we really struggled with that.)  She was as happy as can be when I picked her up.  From what she’s told me, she made friends with a little boy named Kaleb, which isn’t surprising since that is also the name of her cousin that she adores. She also made friends with a “girl in a yellow shirt.”  Her teacher said that there is a very mothering girl in the class who really attached herself to Olivia and made sure she was taken care of.  I don’t know if she’s the yellow shirt girl or not.  It’s funny because the same thing happened last year at preschool.  The mothering types must really like Olivia. LOL.  Olivia went on and on about the little potties and the little sinks and can’t wait to go back on Thursday.  Isn’t that amazing?  I’m just completely amazed at what a big girl she’s become.  It’s going to be a great year!!!

First Day of Preschool

Today is Olivia’s first day at her new preschool.  Last year, we had a really tough time getting adjusted.  So naturally this year I am a bit apprehensive.  Olivia, however, has matured a lot since last year and the initial drop off went a lot better.  There were no tears (from either of us.)  She LOVED the little potties and the little sinks and was busy playing cars when we left.  Her teacher is young and seems very fun and energetic and loving, so I have a good feeling about this year.  I will be sure to update you and tell you all about how her first day went (from what I can get out of her, at least.)

Hello Fall!  Wow, we had gorgeous 70 degree weather today.  What a refreshing change!  Too bad Ryan hasn’t been able to enjoy it.  He worked 23 hours on Friday, all day Saturday and is going on 14+ hours today and still isn’t home.  I’m grateful for such a hardworking husband, but this is ridiculous.  Olivia and I miss him like crazy.  We’ve been staying busy, however.   I had a get together at my house tonight.  My cousin and his wife were in town from Texas and they came over along with my brother and  niece, Izzy.  It was a lot of fun.

Let’s see. . .what else. . .Olivia got new glasses, but you can’t really tell in the picture above.  I’ll have to try to get a good picture of her in them.  They are really cute.  She starts preschool on Tues and I’m a mess over it.  Honestly.  And, right after I drop her off at preschool. . .I start a new job.  I’m working for a company who needs me to update their facebook page and website and do their newsletters, etc.  Right up my alley!  It’s just part time and I will do most of the work from home.  It’s still a bit nerve-wracking as I’ve been out of the work force for 4 years.  Please say a prayer for Olivia and I as we embark on these new journeys.  Too many changes for my comfort zone!
