My Grandpa

My grandpa was released from the hospital this week, however, Hospice has been called in.  I found out today that they have given him only 2-6 weeks to live.  That’s hard to take.  He is in the late stages of Alzheimers/dementia and is now completely bed-ridden.  I’m hoping to go see him tomorrow, but how do you say good-bye?  I want to tell him how wonderful of a grandpa he has been. . .how thankful I am that he was able to see me graduate college, get married, get to know my husband and meet his great-granddaughter.  How do I tell him to look for Logan once he gets to heaven?  How do I tell him how much I love him?  Please pray for my family. . .especially my grandma who must watch the love of her life slip away.  As sad as it is. . .I know my grandpa will be in a much better place with no suffering or pain.  I try to rejoice in that.  And I feel so blessed to call him Grandpa.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your whole family. My grandma died in July of the same thing and as hard as it was for her to be gone, I at least knew she was back to her normal self again and she knew who she was as well as everyone else which she hasn't known for the last 5 years. You will figure out what to say and really in this situation there isn't much you can say because they just don't understand but know that when they have gone to be with God and your loved ones they will know exactly what you wanted to tell them. Love and God Bless!
