Highs were in the upper 40s today, which felt balmy comparatively. Most of the snow was melting, but our backyard (facing north and shaded) still has tons of snow. So, Olivia and I got to play in the snow and didn't freeze while doing it. We had so much fun!!

We made a snowman that she named Binky.

We searched for buried treasure, played snowball catch and had a snowball fight (getting hit in the face with a snowball, even by a 6 year old, still stings.)

And here's a picture of me and my other sweetie! Such a silly girl!

Strike A Pose

This has made me laugh all night. I was changing Abigail's diaper and she didn't want her pants back on. Instead she sat down and "posed" by her chair to let me take her picture.

Haha! I don't know why it made me laugh so hard. Don't they always pose you this way for senior pictures? Kinda like this? I think we will recreate this same pose when she is 18 (with pants, of course.)

Abigail is so funny. She has learned how to turn on the CD player, so she constantly turns on her music and just boogies. It is such a hilarious this to watch. . .and so extremely cute. I don't know how I was blessed with such adorable girls who are so funny as well. They are just amazing, inside and out.

Back to school

After a week long snow/ inservice break, Olivia was excited to get back to school today. (Especially because Mondays are PE days and she loves PE!)

During the break, I was able to work on her Valentines. I wanted something really cute this year and thought these were adorable!! I just have to add the starfish name tags.

Day 4

What do you do after 3 snow days followed by an inservice day?

Build a huge tent

Poor Olivia has an awful cold which boggles my mind since we were in the house away from all human beings for 3 days?!? Her nose is so raw.

But we are all making the most of it!

Snow Day # 2

So, snow days can get kinda boring when it's too cold to play outside (windchills way below 0.) But Olivia vowed to spend it playing her DS. And, boy, did she ever! She's getting really good at Mario Kart!

Abigail got into a lot of mischief. I caught her getting into my makeup, throwing toilet paper in the toilet, standing on the fireplace with her sister's DS (Olivia must have taken a potty break.).

And talking on the telephone. . .

But the girls really liked their snow ice cream!

And maybe we can play again in the snow sometime soon! (Yesterday was Abigail's first time.)

Never Give Up

Do you ever run across a quote or a saying and it just really strikes a chord with you? That happened to me today.

I can't tell you how many times it seemed easier just to give up. In my mind I thought that if I lost the strength to carry on, God would understand. He knows what we went through. Ryan would understand too because he knows the pain all too well. Olivia, however, would not understand. She deserves the best mom in the world. Sometimes I know that I'm far from the greatest, but Olivia has always single handedly kept me going more times than I can count. Good thing she now has Abigail to help keep their mama going!

Go Shox

All I wanted for my birthday was to go to a Wichita State men's basketball game. I hadn't been since I went to college there. With tickets running $100+ a piece, I didn't think it was going to happen. Then a friend of mine from high school gave up two of her season tickets to allow us to go. I was so excited!

The game started out kinda rough, but they pulled ahead by halftime.

And won their 23rd straight game!

Thanks to grandma and grandpa Glunt for watching the girls today.
It was a great day!

Growing Up

This past week I have had some interesting conversations with Olivia.

One such conversation began:

"When I'm a grownup can I still get toys for my birthday? I sure don't want mirrors and clothes and boring things like that."

Olivia also says she doesn't want to get married or have any children. I gotta say, I'm proud that she says what she wants despite other little girls dreaming of their future husband. But, the other day she told me WHY she didn't want to get married:

She was afraid her husband wouldn't want to live in her pink room at her parents' house.

Guess I don't have to worry about this one growing up too fast. LOL!

This one on the other hand. . .

Matchy Match

Lately Olivia has wanted to wear matching clothes with Abigail. If they don't have anything, Olivia will try her hardest to wear something similar. Being five years apart, it is a little hard to find things, but luckily Abigail is big for her age and Olivia is small, so I pick up what I can find. LOL! I'm sure this stage won't last forever so I'll enjoy it for now! Aren't they just so cute?

Olivia and Logan Team T shirts

As you know, Olivia is the 2014 Wichita Ambassador this year for the March of Dimes.  I feel like this is our opportunity to make a difference in our little corner of the world.  Along with sharing our story and spreading awareness about premature birth, I hope to raise money for the March of Dimes.  If not for their dedication and tireless efforts to help save even the smallest of babies. . .Olivia would not be here.  We walk every year in the March for Babies and I hope, if you live close, that you can join us this year.  We will wear these Olivia and Logan team t-shirts that you can purchase from the link provided below.

https://www.booster.com/olivialogan?share=5471390583666869

The walk is:

May 3, 2014 at Exploration Place

Registration is at 8 am, walk begins at 10 am. More details to follow in the coming months.

I am able to sell these shirts for 30 days only.  I chose red shirts because red (and pink) are Olivia’s favorite colors.  I chose peacocks because they are Olivia’s favorite animals at the zoo. Smile A portion of the proceeds will go towards our team and the March of Dimes.  So, even if you are unable to attend the March for Babies, a t shirt purchase of $20 will go towards meeting our team goal and saving babies everywhere.

Thank you all for your support over these past 6+ years!

Sisterly Love

Some days they really do love each other.

Let's Go Fly A Kite

A windy day + huge open space = perfect kite flying weather

Here is Olivia flying it all by herself.

Abigail walked over grass, dirt and rock in the wind! I'd say she is now a pro.

And frozen yogurt afterwards. Perfect afternoon!

Olivia and her "Gorilli." He mostly lives downstairs due to his size, but we let him come up once in awhile. LOL! Look closely. . .he has glasses too.

Olivia loves to play soccer, but doesn't ever want to officially play on a team. Who knows. She may not like it on a team, but she sure enjoys playing it at home. . .especially with the warmer weather we've had. She's good too! You should see her drop kick the ball!

And my poor, sweet Abigail. She had had a runny nose and runny stools for almost 2 weeks. Last week that resulted in an awful diaper rash that went into a yeast rash. It looked so painful! None of the usual diaper creams helped. We had to start using Lotrimin. Thankfully, that cleared it up within a few days. Then last night she started running a fever. I took her into the doctor today and they think it's some sort of virus. Unfortunately, they heard some stridor in her breathing so hoping we aren't going to deal with croup/steroids/breathing treatments again. Sheesh. Between my 23 Weeker and 35 Weeker, who would have thought Abigail would be the one struggling the most with her lungs. Hoping she isn't going to struggle with asthma as she grows up. Here are some pictures from before she got sick.

And my sweet baby today.

She hasn't been sick since she started walking. Seeing her wandering around walking when she doesn't feel good adds a whole new level of heartbreak for some reason. Thankfully, as long as we keep her fever down, she has been okay. No coughing or anything right now. Ugh. I hate when my babies are sick. I mean hate as in " I worry so much I have panic attacks and give myself an ulcer." I hate this time of year. I feel like we are just constantly dodging bullets and everything is like a huge game of risk. Hate it. Hate it! I just always want my family to be healthy and happy. Anyway, so that's what has been going on over here. Hope your family is staying healthy!!

Olivia lost her second tooth last night. It just fell right out while I was brushing her teeth. She was excited about this one and even let the tooth fairy take it!

It has been amazing to watch Abigail's progress on two feet. She walks all over now and is so proud of herself. She is getting to be a pro!
