Monday, October 15, 2007 - Update and Pictures

Olivia is now in her big girl diapers. :) She has outgrown her newborn diapers.

I got to hold my precious daughter tonight for about 2 hours and 20 minutes. They went up on her feeding today to 15cc. There isn’t a whole lot to report tonight which I consider a good thing. We are just patiently waiting for her to grow healthier each day. Patience. . . .that is something that I have an abundance of. I mean, what else can you learn when it takes you over 2 ½ years to be blessed with children? Now, I ask for patience from all of you. Many might think that once Olivia goes home, she will be similar to a full-term infant. What other mothers of preemies (Olivia is actually considered a micro-preemie) know is that we will be in the midst of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) season. To us, that might result in cold-like symptoms, but to premature babies it can be extremely serious. From what I’ve read and from conversations with the nurses, Olivia will not be going out much or entertaining many visitors. We will just have to follow our pediatricians recommendations. Please be patient and understand that Ryan and I will do what is in the best interest of Olivia. Thank you all again for keeping Olivia in your prayers.

We are your new neighbors. We haven't met yet but I want you to know we are praying for Olivia and your whole family. May God's angels circle you all and give both of you strength as your little girl grows stronger each day.

Most Definitely. 'Olivia Paige' is the banner on my phone. And has been for about a month. It always reminds me to pray for her, and think of her parents. Not that I need reminding, but it's nice to see such a lovely name as your banner.
When you talked about patience, I started to think in my child mind again. The patience is coming from both Ryan and Jodi, and Olivia. Ryan and Jodi are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their Olivia. And Olivia is also yearning to go home. I guess you could also say that it's also coming from all of your family and friends and blog readers. Whether they are waiting for an update, or a phone call, (or for me), to finally hug and see you at church. The patience is always there, and is, most of the time, a struggle.
Love you all,
Stay Strong,
Shea

I found your blog recently. I am a mom to one year old former 23 week twins, Serena and Edwin, Jr. We faced many of the same struggles you have faced.
I want to say I am very sorry for the loss of your son, Logan. We came extremely close to losing our son and I can only imagine what you are going through.
Olivia is in our prayers, and I look forward to keeping up with her progress. I've added the link to your blog to my blog page. Hope you don't mind!
