Monday, February 25, 2008 - Update

Thanks for loaning me this outfit, Izzy!
My mom thinks I look adorable in it.

I think I do too!

It took me all afternoon to log into blogger to write an update. I was getting so very frustrated and now that I'm finally in. . .I'm not in the mood anymore to write. Okay. . .deep breath. . .it's just been one of those days where everything is frustrating me. Ryan put a new, adorable outfit on Olivia this morning because she was meeting her new teacher from Rainbows. I absolutely love this outfit. Something about the colors on it match her eyes and her skin tone perfectly. After doing well for the last few days, she threw up all over it. I did manage to get it washed and dried and put back on before her teacher came. Olivia had never thrown up in the morning before. . .we thought it was only an evening thing. We go into see her pediatrician next Monday for her 6 month vaccinations, so hopefully we can figure out what's going on (and maybe get on some Zantac or something like that.) I hate that I don't know what's wrong or how to help her. Other than that, she is her usual happy, wonderful self.

Olivia is, of course, still madly in love with her Gumdrop pacifier from the hospital. I have tried to get her to take other kinds, but when I do she looks at me like I'm trying to replace her best friend. Luckily, I found a site online where you can purchase them. They only come in the newborn size and I think they're getting a little small for her. Any advice? I thought that the soothie pacifiers were similar enough, but Olivia knows the difference.

Hi Jodi,

Carver used to throw up 1/2 his bottles, too. Now that he is on Zantac and Reglan, we don't have that problem. She may have a reflux problem (which would probably hurt and make her cry) or it could be the flap between the esophagus and the stomach not closing properly. I'm told this is something that they eventually outgrow.

Love the pictures. She's getting so big.

Love,
Shanon

Wow! What an awesome blogspot for both Logan and Olivia! It's not hard to figure out the she knows that "Somebunny Loves Her"! She & her animals are just a hoot.
I especially like the ones with her & "Jimmy" (I think that's the skunks name). Don't get me wrong - I enjoy all of them! I'm hoping the doctor will have some answers to your questions about her vomiting. All I can say is "Keep Up The Good Work" because the both of you are doing a super fantastic job of being parents - You're AWESOME! Love Ya - M.A.

Hmm...that is quite the pacifier dilemma. I know just how Olivia feels. Er well I did. I had my pacifier until I was almost 4 years old (hey don't judge me!) and can actually remember not being fooled by imitators!! And just to clarify: my mom says she had me almost weened from it, but then I was hospitalized for two weeks when I was three and the "weening" went right out the window!

Kerry

P.S. Can I just say she is absolutely ADORABLE?!?!

Amelia is now almost 21 months old, and still loves her newborn gumdrop pacifier from the hospital. She has 12+ teeth, and I haven't had any issues with them breaking down or tearing. Luckily I have an endless supply, so I do try to replace them every 6 months or so.

Maybe try calling the hospital and talk to one of the nurses you had. I'm sure they wouldn't mind sending a few to you.

Avery loved her paci from the NICU so much that When I tried others she would spit them out too. I called up her Primary nurse and she had a handful of them waiting for me the next time we were there for an appt.
