Wednesday, May 21, 2008 - Update

Olivia's first crush. . .

I don't know how many of you watch American Idol, but Ryan and I have watched most of the past 7 seasons. Since the beginning of this season, the three of us have tried to watch it in the evenings. A few months ago (when it was still the top 24) Olivia didn't care anything about it. She didn't even pay attention to the television. . . .except when David Cook was on. Every week, she made a point to watch David Cook and smile at him on t.v. He wasn't even one of my favorites, but Olivia sure sees something in him. Does that mean she's going to like the rocker type? David Cook made it into the top 2 and the finale is tonight. Ryan and I haven't voted all season, but last night I had to cast a vote in favor of David Cook because I know he gets Olivia's vote. I'm, however, kind of rooting for David Archuleta. (But, don't tell Olivia that.)

It's okay Olivia; I seem to go for the bad boys too. A more difficult road, but one that sure is fun! Just try to find one that's a good guy at heart. Thanks for the smiles and giggles yesterday. You're very special to me and to be able to make you smile was very cool indeed.

Hey Girls!
I have never watched a full episode of American Idol, but because I heard you two raving about it, I'm tuning in right now!

Okay here's the deal. Our section secretary and I want Olivia to pick out lottery numbers for us okay? She OBVIOUSLY knew David Cook was going to win from the beginning. I think you have a baby genius on your hands. I'll be over soon with large numbers for Olivia to point at or drool on, whichever she feels like.

My niece's first crush was Peter Francis Geraci, a bankruptcy attorney in the Chicagoland area who is rather old, monotone and has many daytime commercials. When she was an infant she would basically only pay attention to the TV when he came on and no matter what her mood or what was going on she would stare at the TV and smile. I have no clue what about him caught her interest, they were not flashy commercials at all, subliminal messaging perhaps??? One of the many times I wish I could have read her mind!
