Birthday Boy

The world just didn't seem right without a smiling Olivia. She's not 100% recovered, but today she was full of smiles and laughs. In just two days, we've noticed some amazing strides. She is actually showing interest in toys that don't make noise. She stares at objects a little more intently and she's starting to push up on her arms to see certain things. I can't believe that her vision was hindering her that much, but only time will tell.

Ryan attended the birthday party of our nephew, Aidan, and our niece, Rebekah. Olivia and I were unable to attend as she's still recovering. Sorry that we missed everyone, but I hear Olivia was a big topic of conversation. It's such a joy to learn that Olivia is not only a blessing to her family, but to everyone who knows her.

We were at Olivia's this afternoon for about two hours, and we've got to say we were certainly amazed at the "change" in Olivia! As Jodi said, Olivia stares at "non-musical" things so much more intently...she makes such good eye contact with people...and she doesn't seem to be "ignoring" you! I believe we're in for some amazing progress ahead! She's always been a "trooper", and she's always pushed ahead with all her might. And now, with her better focus and vision, the sky's the limit!! Go Olivia!!!!

Your daughter is beautiful!

I am so sorry about your sweet Logan...

I delivered identical twin boys in March at 23.3 weeks and they fought hard but both passed away due to extreme prematurity.

Your Olivia is quite the miracle!

My daughter just turned two and she was born at 29 weeks! Doing just fabulous today!

We sure missed Olivia's smiling face today...and the kids always miss Aunt Jodi when she isn't there.
