I’m happy to report that Olivia is breastfeeding successfully after many unsuccessful attempts. . . .and she loves it. I’m afraid that she is going to start refusing bottles all together. She even makes a point to stop and grin while nursing, with milk running down her cheek. I want to make sure that she is getting enough and not knowing how much she’s getting is driving me crazy. I’m so worried about it. Wish us luck on this new endeavor as this could help with her gas pains and fussiness while eating. My parents came over and helped us take the Christmas stuff down today and also held her while we trimmed our guinea pigs’ nails. Eighty four nails had to be cut, but they willingly let us do it. I guess after being way over-do, they welcome it (they are supposed to be cut every 6 weeks and I think we’ve trimmed them once since Olivia was born.)

Anyway, it was a beautiful day outside and we just had to get out and enjoy it. So, Olivia took her first stroller ride! We had to borrow my parents’ stroller because all we have is a double stroller and an umbrella stroller (she’s not quite big enough for that one yet.) She was able to hear dogs barking and geese quacking and feel the sun shining, etc. Do you know how long it’s been since I took a leisurely stroll outside? It was wonderful! I pray for many more days like this.

That's awesome! I remember being so terrified of my son (29wkr) losing weight when he started breastfeeding but it never happened. He thrived just as much if not more from breastfeeding directly and he had so much less trouble with gas, plus, I didn't have to pump religiously anymore! I hope things continue to go well!

That is AWESOME!!!!!!! I am so happy for you!!!!!!!!! Breastfeeding is, seriously, hands down, one of the best things she can be doing, and I bet it'll really help her little digestive system out, too.

I know it's terrifying to not know how much she's getting but it really will be OK :D For us, once I got Sydney starting to nurse, things started to feel more "normal" (for lack of a better word...) which really helped me relax some. :) Plus, I started to get more sleep because on the nights where she was really restless, I could lie down while nursing her and doze. Hehe.

Congratulations again!

Wow! I hope straight mama's milk helps to make a less gassy Livi, and a happier one!
I'm glad that Livi was also welcomed by the sun! You guys picked a really good day to go out. I was so jealous, I wanted to jump on my trampoline, but I had sports practice with like 30 minutes in between, so it was hectic, but aren't all our lives...? She looked quite comfy in her stroller.
It sounds like she is doing wonderful, and I'm always thinking about her! And mom and dad. I always wish that there's something I could do, so please don't hesitate to call!
I hope you guys are also getting the rest you asked for. I have kinda been dosing off in class. (Don't tell my mom!) So I'm trying to catch up on some Z's too. But I'm sure that your game of catch-up is much harder than mine.
Well you all have never left my mind.
Love you all!
Stay Strong,
Shea♥

I'm so happy things are going so well. Congrats on the nursing. I was also very nervous about getting enough, but she should be fine. (I ended up buying a baby scale on ebay so that I could know more often about weight) And I'm so glad you finally got to take a stroller ride. Isn't it nice to sort of feel like a "normal" family?!

Olivia looks like she is blossoming at home and I am sure you you both feel like you are blossoming as parents. I hope the breastfeeding goes well! I was only able to pump with my 3 so I bet the BF experience is awesome.
