Sleep?
Who needs it.

Olivia hasn't been too kind to me the last few nights. She's waking up multiple times and seems to have a knack for waking me up just as I've fallen back to sleep. She started sleeping through the night mid-March and other than a few nights here and there, has been continuing to do so ever since. Of course, our first guess is that a tooth is coming in, but I don't know. This morning she awoke at 2 am (after waking up around midnight) and was wide awake and ready to eat. I cleared my day, pushed housework to the back burner and was going to nap when she naps. But, Olivia has decided that she doesn't need a nap. Is it wrong of me to put her in her jumperoo in hopes that she'll tire herself out? She's still going strong. Me? Not so much. :)

Hmm...have you tried talking to her about this? She seems like a decent gal. Surely if you just explain to her how important sleep is, she'd go back to her old habits of sleeping through the night and taking naps. If not, you might have to move to negotiations.

Olivia! GO TO BED! :-)

Welcome to my world!!! (the world of sleepless infants and toddlers that is)

Ellie has never been much of a sleeper during the day and recently she doesn't think that sleeping at night is very important either...I must be a bad role model! Actually, every time she gets a new tooth she starts this pattern, so there may be some truth to the whole tooth thing. In the meantime...HELLO JUMPEROO!

Have you heard of people needing Beauty sleep?
I Think Olivia knows that she's so beautiful that she doesn't need any more sleep! having said that I also think that she does need to go to bed and stablish a sleeping pattern so her mother can rest, My mother told me that when I was a baby she gave me water and a little bid of sugar and I was sleeping like a baby after that!!!!

Good luck!
God is awesome

aww... that stinks! Jacob, the older one, was NOT a good sleeper... and Nathan is the opposite! But with Jake... he just doesnt require much sleep! I know this might stink...cause I know the nap is the time a mom looks forward to in the day- but we cut out Jakes nap and then he would sleep 12 hours a night.. but give him even 1 nap... and he'd not go to bed until 1 am! seriously! Sounds like she might be cuttin a tooth though...poor Olivia!

Don't you just love parenting. Just when you get a handle on something they go and change! Claire slept thru the night starting at 12 weeks and never made a peep. Asher slept thru the night at 10 weeks but has had nights ever since then when he will wake up. Usually teeth! He also wanted to eat more when he was teething. Some babies do that.
