Olivia's Progress

You would not believe the change in Olivia after her surgery. It is amazing. She is grabbing onto her toys and shows interest in everything around her. She is also sitting up completely on her own for long periods of time. I continue to be blown away. How can this be? Well, I ran across the following article.

Babies' Development 'Catches Up' After Surgery To Fix Crossed Eyes

Here is one of Olivia's first attempts to sit up completely by herself. What a big girl!!

Well, I can't wait to see Olivia this morning. I'm going to tell her to "drop, and give me twenty!" (pushups) From what I've observed, her "after surgery" progress has been miraculous. I'm certainly no doctor, but it stands to reason that vision is more important than I thought in a child's development. A simple thing like sitting up depends on balance which also depends on the ability to focus on your surroundings. That video tells so much! Just watching her pick up that chew toy and chew on it is amazing!! I'm going to watch it 10 more times right now.... go Olivia!!!!

It says a lot about how amazing Olivia is when I can honestly say that was the best video EVER!! Go Olivia!

I'm so happy that the surgery opened up a whole new world for her. Thank God there are people smart enough to figure out these kinds of things (surgeons, scientists, etc). Well, these "catch ups" will surely help put you more at ease about her development. Awesome.
