Monday, September 3, 2007 - Evening Update

It was so nice to go see them today. It’s amazing how therapeutic it is for Ryan and I to see our babies. Good news! Olivia had her first bowel movement and you have never seen so much poopie come out of someone so tiny!! They had given her a suppository to get her bowels moving and will continue to do so. She is still tolerating my milk really well. The took one of the bandages off of her leg and it looks so much better.

We received some additional information on Logan. His blood pressure still needs to go down and stabilize. They began giving him medicine last night to close his ductus and he did not tolerate it very well. It greatly reduced his urine output, which is one of the nasty side effects, so they stopped the medication. They are going to try it again within a few days and see how he does. If he still cannot tolerate it, they will have to do surgery to go in and close it.

Please please keep praying for our babies! They both turned one week old today, so you might sing a little song for them!

I'm Jodi's father...I've known this sweet girl all her life! A more loving, caring, and nurturing person would be hard to find. Ryan has been a wonderful husband to her and will be a great father. They tried for over 3 years to have a family...and then were blessed with twins....and then learned recently that the twins would be a boy and a girl. The unexpected early arrival has been challenging for us all...but I'm a total believer that the Creator of All Living Things has everything under control. Jodi's Mom and I pray for the whole family continually....everyone has really been through a rough time...especially Jodi.....I encourage everyone to pray.... even a little more for her. God has, and will continue to bless their lives.

I am praying and spreading the word about Ryan, Jodi, Logan, and Olivia to family, friends, and church family. I know that all four of you are in the Father's loving and merciful hands, but be assured that we are petitioning Him on your behalf as well.
Love in Christ,
Becky Riffee

I love you. I hope the babies will be well when they come home. I will put many prayer beads on Olivia's and Logan's strings every day. Rebekah (cousin, age almost 5)
