Poppies and Tut Tuts

Okay, so poppy means potty AND puppy in our household. Sometimes you have to try to figure out what context it is being used in to figure out which one Olivia is talking about. Today, I was reading her a potty book called Have You Seen My Potty and Olivia got up and ran into the bathroom saying "Poppy, Poppy!" So, I stripped her down and put her on the tut tut (toilet.) She kinda sat there and smiled and I thought, "Surely, she wasn't telling me that she had to go potty." So, I took her off and she walked out of the bathroom and peed on the carpet. So, mommy screwed up. She was really telling me that she had to go potty! So, we're going to get Olivia her own potty and play with it a bit. I can't imagine that she's ready because her diaper is still soaked in the morning. But, since she is very interested in it right now, I figure it wouldn't hurt. Olivia would be the first child ever who was potty trained and still taking a bottle. . . .

How exciting is that! Olivia can still be ready when her diaper is soaked overnight, the main signs are being dry for over 2 hours, interest, and dry at naptime :)

Nope, my micro was potty trained, and still took her 3 ba-ba's a day. They've now been gone for a while, but she still asks for them back!

awww... thats so cute! Nathan has the same word for pizza.. and Papaw... so it's "pa-pa".. Do you want papaw? or a pizza?! Can't wait to see how the potty thing goes..

she's showing interest so she's ready to be introduced. Its not abnormal for kids to still be wet in the morning (or wet the bed) even after they are "potty trained."

I had to laugh at your story. When I was training LaneyBug, I had her to the point where she knew the whole routine, but still wasn't actually going on the potty much.

One day my sister came home and I told her "show mommy how you go potty." We went in the bathroom, stripped her and I made the mistake of telling her again "show mommy how you go potty" thinking she'd get up there and go... oh no... she stood right there and peed on the bathroom floor. So you're not the only one who screws up! LOL
