Monday, September 10, 2007 - Update

New Update From Mommy:

Well, both of my babies are sick right now with an infection. We don’t remember the name of the bacteria, but it’s one that all of us carry on our skin. It’s harmless to us, but premature babies are affected by it. Logan and Olivia are on antibiotics and their nurses seem fairly confident that the antibiotic will take care of it. It also seems fairly common for babies like Logan and Olivia to contract this. We’re waiting to hear from their doctor for further information. Please keep praying for them.

Logan is having a chest x-ray today to make sure nothing is hindering his breathing. Olivia will have an abdomen x-ray tomorrow if that looks good, they will resume her feedings. We’re hoping the Logan can start taking some milk later in the week.

Also. . .interesting tidbit (discovered by my brother-in-law, Joel) if you accidentally reverse their names and type in loganandolivia.blogspot.com, you will find another set of twins named Logan and Olivia. They were born at 24 weeks in South Carolina.

God bless all of you who are keeping my precious Logan and Olivia in your thoughts and prayers.

Ryan and Jodi, Also wanted to let you know more "strangers" are among you. David and Denise are my dearest friends and also leaders of our small group, they passed along your prayer concerns some time a go and my family (Mike, Joy, Brenna, Emma and Hannah Franklin (miles and kolby also)) have been keeping up on your blog updates and praying for precious Logan and Olivia, (and our Brenna feels it is her responsibility to do her daily checkin too). God is AWESOME as David said and prayer is amazing in its peace and understanding. Please know we are with you in this marathon and can't wait to see Logan and Olivia running down the street to play with our friends, Hayes and Harli,

In God's Love, Joy

Wow!!! These look like entirely different babies-I'm just so astounded and encouraged by what a difference a couple of weeks make with regard to how much healthier the babies look! What absolutely gorgeous babies you have!! I don't intend to minimize the daily struggles they are each going through but, am so amazed at what they've accomplished so far!!

I hope your first day without each other (Ryan and Jodi)went better than you thought it would. I'm praying for and thinking of you often.-Stacy W.

Ryan and Jodi-

Joel and Laura passed along your prayer request. Please know that you are in our prayers and Claire has seen the pictures of the babies and reminded me to pray for them at dinner tonight.

While my prayers were for Olivia and Logan the other night, Hannah started singing one of her favorite songs, "Jesus Loves Me". In the background I heard the words ... they are weak, but he is strong ... and I knew that song was meant for your babies. We will sing that song everyday at our house just for them.

Ryan and Jodi: The Soderstroms passed this along to us as we are former members of Maize United Methodist Church and care deeply for our Church Family. Please know that we are keeping all of you in our prayers. You have a beautiful family and we hope you can take comfort in knowing that God will always take care of you.

Jodi and Ryan, I am keeping all of you in my prayers...am thinking of you always. You both have strong, solid faith - try not to let it waver, because God truly is with you and your precious babies. Olivia and Logan are beautiful babies. As they struggle to overcome each obstacle, know that we are all supporting them and lifting them up in God's name. I love what Heather wrote about "Jesus Loves Me". It is so amazing that a simple song, that we sing without really thinking about the words, says it all. Blessed are the children. Love, Anita
