I continue to be amazed at what a wonderful baby Olivia is. She just doesn’t complain very much even though she has been given a million reasons to complain. She’s very content and loves to be cuddled. Bottle feeding has been difficult and it is hit or miss. One feeding she’ll take 2ccs, then 15 ccs, followed by 50 ccs, then 9 ccs, etc. I don’t want to rush her though. Like I’ve said before, I want her home very badly, but I want her to be ready. We gave her a bath today for the first time. I hope you enjoy the pictures. She was adorable (as always.) Both of her special care roommates have moved on and are getting ready to go home with their families. Today she got two new roommates. I don’t know how many babies have come and gone while Olivia has remained. That’s okay. . .our time will come. Sometimes I think we have to experience the worst pain in order to experience the greatest joy. There may be millions of children that are loved as much as Olivia, but I don’t think it’s possible for anyone to love their child more. Thank you, God, for giving us such a precious gift. Here I am in my first Christmas outfit.
Yes, I haven’t had a bath in 89 days. . I’m so embarrassed.
So, this is a bath. I’m not quite sure what to think.
Do I love it or hate it?
Well, I might as well sit back and enjoy it.
Now I’m fresh as a daisy!
A clean baby is a happy baby.
Hooray for baths!

Miss Olivia, your pictures are absolutely adorable! Is that a roll under your chin? Did you know that we used to call your daddy toad when he was a baby because he had three chins?
Love you lots!

I would love to see you.
I loved your pictures. We took cousin pictures last night, can't wait until you get to be in them, too!

I love your bath pictures!
The pictures are so adorable. Love that "first christmas" outfit! Those are so fun. You do a great job at keeping this updated, it is a joy to see Olivia's progress!
She's so cute! I can only imagine her facial expression the first moment she felt the water!

Ahhhh first bath. I remember how exciting that was. Yeahhh Olivia!!
She is getting to be such a big girl!!
I love the new pics of Olivia!!!! She is just so sweet.
Feedings....Ashton was the same. Sometimes he would take 10mls and other times up to 90mls! I feel like the NICU we were in were rushing to get him feeding and out the door....mind you he had been there already three months past his due date but nevertheless it was hard for me. I KNEW the day they sent him home he wasn't ready. We were discharged at 11am but we didn't walk out of there until after 5pm (that is how worried/scared I was). Anyhow four days later we were back.
Long story short....I hope that they give Olivia the time that she needs to do her bottles well.
:)
Jodi and Ryan-
I can tell you that no other child is loved as much by non-family members, as your daughter. I've never had a child (who wasn't my own) warm my heart as much as Olivia has.
I hope you will continue with the blog, updates, and pictures, after that precious baby goes home. I think this blog has become as much in everyone's routine, as their morning coffee!!
God IS wonderful and you have been truly blessed!!-Stacy Woodard (and baby at 4 months!!!!)
